new year | new start

In conversation with a fellow seeker and healer a few days back I offered to contribute regular articles on the site Pinay.com

Pinay.com supports and celebrates the Filipina and hopes to present her to the rest of the world in all her glorious facets and assets.

A mutual agreement evolved organically from a few heartfelt shares between me and site maven and publisher, Perla Daly [aka Omehra Sigahne].

This lead to a few more brainstorming sessions, more like mind mapping via back and forth picking of each other's brains. Aside from the fact that we were both born and raised in the same island of Negros, we soon discovered other boundless connections.

It is always a pleasure to harness good energy in good company - all aspects for each participant is generously enhanced. This is synergy is action and application.

The gist of it is they are launching a life coach segment this 2016 and that is what I have been
invited to write for. So here I am submitting my first article.

To kick off 2016 and this new adventure I'm casting my net far and wide and calling on
fellow seekers and advocates to come together in writing a new story for Mother Earth
and the human race.

Individually and in community we are being called upon today to practice compassion
and extend care to our fellow human beings and all life forms by uniting our heartfelt
energies in a concerted and concentrated force to make the promise of a sustainable
future achievable to us all.

Citizens the world over are facing off against their governments, conglomerates, and religions armed with our fierce and ferocious love for each other and this world we
live in.

Scattered incidents and separate stories are expanding and connecting in growing
momentum and velocity to no longer be ignored. Regular folks are stepping up in
local and online communities, advocating for more inclusive practices.

With longer life expectancy, there is a growing need to improve inter-generational
communication. More of us are advocating to eliminate monetary corruption in politics
and economics to restore democracy and equality to all of humanity.

We all hope to live in a world where clean air, food, and water is available to us all.
Where safety, education, independence, and justice abides.

Our individual hearts on fire
need to ignite and awaken
a global heart that beats
to the same cadence.

Pioneering efforts are being forged by groups like the Pachamama Alliance with their
Awakening the Dreamer symposium and the Game Changer intensive. The recent
Parliament of World Religions had powerful women reminding us to rise up and be
the fierce ferocious goddesses it is our divine destiny to glory in.

Similar groups like Generation Waking Up and Walking Civics all warrant widespread
attention and support. But before we set out to change the world we require proper
guidance and support in awakening our individual qualities and personal strengths for us
to flourish as a global society. Each link must be forged well to be able to give its best.

Each individual has to tap into our philanthropic soul, whatever our measure of wealth,
we each have to discover within ourselves the true power of capacity building in our gift
giving. Even children can be nurtured to share what they have and think of others too.
It is a simple and basic foundation of life that we ought to keep in practice

Each of us is accountable and the sooner we acknowledge ownership the better we can
contribute. End of 2014 and early last year I returned to the Philippines to spend the
holidays with my family in Bacolod, Negros Island

It was the first time I was back in the Philippines to personally visit and experience
Typhoon Haiyan recovery efforts and other environmental sustainability projects as well.
It was a welcome salve to counteract the insidious spread of capitalistic chaos Manila is
to us Balikbayans [overseas Filipinos].

Luckily I was privy to community collaborations conducted by close friends personally
involved in the management and operations of some of these major projects. I am so
very proud of and grateful for all their tireless efforts. The LGSP-LED.ph Northern
Cebu OrganizationPRRCFI in Danyugan IslandChild and Family Service Philippines
to name a few.

I am especially encouraged and inspired by recent developments to revive and resurrect
indigenous crafts, customs and cultures. Crucial efforts at educating and training
community members and visitors alike to their native value, use, and sustainability.

Maybe a better future and balance can be struck between enterprising and prosperous
growth and expansion. Hope springs eternal. Happy 2016 to us all!
